Paul and Quentin had been standing off to the side. Paul wondered if Cocaine would really hold up his end of the deal, not for himself, but for his brother. He wanted to make sure that even after they did what they were supposed to do, that Cocaine wasn’t on no snake shit, but Quentin was so surprised by what had taken place, he was speechless.

“Call the crew, tell them to come get this nigga, baby,” Cocaine said as he wiped the blood from around his face that splattered up when he and Juaqeen shot Dutch.

Lexxy nodded her head and stepped into the other room to make the call. Cocaine walked over toward Paul and Quentin and stuck out his hand for them to shake.

“A deal is a deal,” Cocaine said with a smile on his face. He was surprised they actually came through, and now, Cocaine didn’t even want to kill them; he was proud of them, but he should’ve known, they were family after all.

Cocaine opened the other door on the other side of the room, and out walked Jayla. She wore a lightweight jogging suit with Adidas. She was dressed to run for just in case this somehow went south.

Quentin couldn’t take it anymore; his heart was tearing at the seams, and he just wanted his mother. He wanted to apologize, to tell her he didn’t know. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. The moment was priceless and touching.

With her arms wide open, she feared rejection, the unknown of what might happen, but Quentin had been waiting on this moment his entire life, and he wasn’t going to waste it with what if’s.

He almost ran into her arms, letting her cradle him like a baby.

“I’m sorry, Mama. I’m so sorry,” he cried into her shoulder.

“Shhh…it’s ok. I know. I know.”

She rocked him back and forth like he was a small child as an ocean of tears flowed down their bodies.

Jayla opened her other arm, wanting Paul to come in for a hug as well, but he was reluctant. He didn’t realize it, but the feeling he’d been having this whole time was guilt. He felt guilty for the part he played, and Jayla knew it. She saw the look of hurt in his eyes, and there was only one way to set him free.

“I forgive you, Paul. I forgive you.”

Paul didn’t know it, but those were the words that he needed to
